New Camera!

I got a new camera for my birthday - it finally came in the mail a couple of days ago. I'm getting a little frustrated with it. Tim insists I NEED to read the guidebook, but I hate reading those things. So I hope if I complain enough he'll read it and just tell me what to do. :) OR maybe I'll make Colleen tell me how to use it! haha Otherwise, I think I'll like it. It's smaller than my old camera which I was looking for. Something simple and lightweight. I'm looking forward to taking it to camp in a couple of weeks.

Black Bear eating OUR bird seed!

The other morning Obie had started barking out the window like a crazy animal so I peek out and see this black bear running back into the woods. He must have heard Obie and got scared.

Fast forward to this evening: Tim and I look out our kitchen window often to see if we have any birds at the feeder. I looked out and couldn't seem to figure out why the feeder was "gone". Then I frantically told Tim "come here, Come Here, COME HERE!!" As you can see from the pictures the bear had bent the feeder right to the ground and was devouring our bird seed. We decided to go outside for a closer look (staying on the deck of course) and the bear could have cared less that we were watching him. We could hear our neighbors talking and come to find out they were watching him too. There was some water in one of the chairs on the deck so I dumped it out which for some reason scared him and he ran off for a second, but came right back to finish the rest of the seed. Then he lazily walked back out into the woods. Tim's been dying to see wild animals in our yard so I was happy he was home at the time to see it! :)
