Happy New Years

Ringing in the New Year in a BIG way... o wait, no I'm not. We went out to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's (had a gift card from Christmas, ya we can be cheap sometimes). I ate A LOT! It was really yummy!! I think we're going over to Jared and Leigh's a little later. Jared works until 10:00 so we're waiting for him to get out - if I can stay up that late, once I get bored I just want to go to bed. I don't think we'll be doing much over there either. Although, they mentioned the other night that they got a game set with a bunch of drinking games in it. That's what I call a good time... drinking games! *sarcasm* I don't like to be forced to drink. And I like to stick to my own drinking speed...which happens to be SLOW! I'm sure I'll still have a good time!! They just got a Wii and they have Mario Galaxy - very cool game! I think I'm finally getting pushed over the edge about getting a Wii. I couldn't seem to justify it in the past because neither Tim or I really play a lot of video games, but I think it would be a lot of fun to have. I said I would like one for my birthday, but that isn't until May. I thought I could sell my Game Cube and the games I have and use that money for the Wii. I've sold some of my Game Cube games on Amazon and got $25 each and I still have 7 others....so I think that idea would work. Anyway, hope everyone has a wonderful New Years! Happy 2008!

"Favorite" 25 Movies

I use the term favorite loosely when putting together this list. I'm sure I'll forget about some movies... and I agree with Colleen, a favorite is more like a movie you could watch again and again. so... here it goes (in no particular order - just as they come to mind):

1. Wedding Planner
2. Star Wars
3. Lord of the Rings
4. The Sweetest Thing
5. Closer
6. The Italian Job
7. Lord of War
8. Dazed & Confused
9. XMen
10. Failure to Launch
11. How to lose a guy in 10 days
12. The Notebook
13. Evan Almighty
14. Pretty Woman
15. If Only
16. Office Space
17. Sweet November
18. Tommy Boy
19. V for Vendetta
20. Chasing Amy
21. Ice Age
22. Miss Congeniality
23. Stigmata
24. Sweet Home Alabama
25. Save the Last Dance

good news, Good News, GOOD NEWS!!

Okay, so.. I have some good news. I got a call from that attorney's office already. They want to set up another interview so I can meet the other partner. YAY! This has to be good news, right? I'll be meeting with him next week! I'm hoping this job really works out for me! Maybe it's all that praying that Tim's Nana is doing - huh Janice? =o)

These pics are of my cousin. Who happens to be ONLY 4 years old (as of about 1 week ago). He's such a rugged kid - not so much a "fat belly", but big all over!! =o) He wears a friggin' 7t! Although, the pants are rolled up to his knees! I hate to pick on him, but seriously... It blows my mind how big he is.

A couple days late....

Christmas was absolutely wonderful!! I was very happy with everything I got (MY PALM, telescope, a beautiful necklace from Tim -- first piece of jewelry he has bought for me). I got Tim is ROKR, he was very excited! I also got him some new speakers for his computer, clothes, and some random stuff.

I had my interview today. It went very very well!! I think I'd really like this office. They will be getting back to me in a couple of weeks. I'm not really excited about the health insurance, but I knew it wasn't going to be that great considering they are a small office. But the 401k is good. The hours are the same (except they have "summer hours" which I meant to ask what that was, but I forgot). I assume summer hours would be less than normal hours. I'm going to continue searching for a job just in case this one doesn't work out.

Jordan Christmas Par-tay

Had a great time at the Jordan Christmas Party!! Did some gift swaping, some major munching and a little Wii playing (notice Nicole above - the Rayman running record holder!)

OH Happy Day!

Okay, so... most of you may recall I was having some job issues. Well, I haven't mentioned much about it because I have been working in a new position that I really like. I very much wanted this position to be made permanent, but it isn't going to happen. The lady I have been working for wants me to stay, but due to "budget" I will not be staying. I could apply for a teller position, but... no thanks! Anyway, getting to the happy stuff... I got an interview set up with Tucker & Dostie Law Office for a paralegal position. I really hope I get it!! If I don't get it... well, never mind we won't talk about the "if I don't get it" part right now. The interview is next week, but I'm not going to jinx it by giving away the day and time! =o)

Wrapping at the Mall

I volunteered to wrap gifts at the Red Cross station in the Mall. It was SOOOO slow! It would of been fun had there been more than 10 people in a 4 hour time period - well, considering there were like 5 other people. It was fun to make the presents pretty. There was a lot of wrapping paper, ribbons and bows! I thought it would be busier since it's getting close to Christmas. Now I think I'm going to pick up some ribbon and make some of my gifts all pretty!!

Just one more week!! I can't wait for Christmas! It takes forever to get here, but I know it's going to fly right by. But that's okay because I'll have a bunch of new stuff!! =o)

Gingerbread Houses and Shrek the Third!

Sean and Jessi spent the night last night. We had a good time. We made gingerbread houses or rather we decorated gingerbread houses... I bought them pre-made.

Than we watched Shrek the Third and Polar Express. Jessi passed out fairly early, she mentioned she had been up late with her friends the night before. Sean was up for awhile watching Polar Express. Tim and I went into bed around 9:45 and Sean was still up watching the movie. The kids were well behaved. Sean got a little crazy at times but than again he did eat half the frosting for the gingerbread house and a ton of candy on top of it! Sean got upset with Tim once and threatened to go home, but this morning he said he didn't want to leave.

Guar-an-tee (this blog is not for you sports haters)

So, you (you being Anthony Smith from the Steelers) think you can walk into the house of the mighty Patriots and talk a lot of smack without getting your ASS handed to you? I DON'T THINK SO DARLIN'!!! No rookie is going to get away with saying "we're going to beat the Pat's, I guarantee it". You just got yourself a big fat bulls eye attached to your face!! And boy did we hit that target! You gave the Patriots the boost they needed to get back on the winning track (not that they were really ever off). You like to think you will meet them again and maybe with a little luck you will, but I'll give you 2 guesses as to the outcome of that game. Hmm... I'm going to give you a hint... rip you a new one!! Picking up what I'm putting down? Well, the Patriots answered your "guarantee" with a big ole beat down on the field. Next time you need to remember to keep your mouth shut!! NOBODY likes someone who's going to run their mouth - your teammates were also not impressed by you running your mouth! Keep the cool guy act for your friends and just play the damn game!

Oh, Christmas Tree

We decorated our tree yesterday morning. I forgot how picky Tim is about where the lights are positioned and than the garland and then the ornaments. Today he was still frigging around with it!! RIDICULOUS! But I said "kristie, pick your battles" and just sat back while he did his thing!! He put the lights on first and he said it was my turn to help and told me to put on the garland. I said, no way! All he would do is follow right behind me and fix it all. So I just put ornaments on. =o)

I've put some presents under the tree, but not all. Some of the gifts are for the Jordan's. =o) Speaking of the Jordan's, Tim and I have the kids next week! I'd like to plan something fun. any ideas? What's fun for a 12 year old AND a 5 year old?

Decorating and Wrapping

We did a little decorating tonight for Christmas. Thursday we're going to pick up a tree and let it settle so we can decorate it on Saturday. I usually don't like to spend money on silly decorations for holidays, but I think for Christmas I am going to make an exception this year! Tomorrow I'd like to head over to Family Dollar and get some cheap decorative stuff. Tim and I both are very excited for Christmas! If I haven't mentioned it already my 2nd favorite part of the Christmas season is wrapping presents. So tonight I'm going over to a friend of mine to wrap some presents with her. She has a son (5 years old) and her boyfriend has 3 boys (between 5-11 years old). So she has a ton of toys to wrap! YAY!!! I'll be in wrapping heaven! I'm going over later because we need to wait for her son to go to bed (the other boys are at their moms).

Back

We left NY a day early because of the nasty storm coming along (that is now here). I had a wonderful time visiting with my family. We did some figuring while we were down there and realized it had been 11 years since we had last seen each other. My aunts and uncles now have kids (the kids are 8 and 4). I think I played more Wii bowling than anything else! =o) The ride was really long - 9 1/2 hrs there because of city traffic! But it was a little over 8 hrs home. This is Lea and Anthony they are both 8 and INSANELY well behaved!! LOVE'M!!! (the pic looks half dark and half normal because Mikela took the picture and her finger covered half the flash).
This is Mikela. She is 4 and the wild one of the bunch! She's very funny and adorable!!

And this is my dad and my grandfather (poppy).

I'm happy to be home, but I did not want to leave so quickly. It was very sad to say goodbye, but this time we will not wait so long to visit again. We're planning on going down again in May.

Last minute trip to NY

Yup! Going to NY tomorrow morning. Dad calls me this morning (7:57 to be exact) and left me a message saying he is heading out to NY in the morning and would like Karen and I to come. Dad is from NY and some of his family still lives their. My grandfather has been in and out of the hospital with a bleeding ulcer over the past few months. He also suffers from parkinsons disease. I wasn't real excited about the very last minute trip, but I don't want to regret not going. So, we're going down for a few days and coming home on Monday. I haven't been to NY to visit my family in like 8 or 10 years. I picked up some snacks for the ride. I'm bringing a book, but I doubt I'll read it because I tend to get car sick. BLAH! I'll probably bring my laptop too... ugh this is going to be such a boring ride!!!

Did somebody say Christmas?

Yeah, I said it!! I can't wait for Christmas! Just a couple more things to get and BAM I'll be done. Last year I adopted a family through the Salvation Army. And I raised some money through work to buy gifts for the family. I had a great time doing it and so this year I did the same thing. But this year instead of asking for a family of 4 I requested a family of 2. I raised about $250 last year, but it just isn't nearly enough for 4 people! Money goes FAST!!! This year I have quite a few people who are buying gifts on their own and others who are donating money. I have a short list of items the family is wishing for so it's pretty easy to get all those things plus some! The family is a Dad and his 12 year old daughter. I have about 15 people involved which I'm very excited about!!! Nothing like helping out a family in need to put someone into the Christmas spirit!!!!

Thanksgiving #2

Tim and I went to my grandparents house for our 2nd thanksgiving. We had a good time and the food was yummy. We had all the "normal" stuff like turkey, potato, sweet potato, cranberry sauce, stuffing... etc. I don't have any pic's though - I left my camera at Colleen and Rick's. O well, I have enough picture's that I haven't scrapped yet and would have just added to the pile. I just got up from a long nap (which wasn't necessary, but I did it anyway).
Tim took off to Ellsworth to jam with his friends so I got bored and decided to read a book (while laying on the couch with a blanket!) There is absolutely nothing on TV - College Football and I hate it!
I think tomorrow I'm going to tackle some more Christmas shopping. I'm just about finished and I even have it all wrapped! Wrapping is my 2nd favorite part of Christmas, my first favorite being getting the presents!
It is definitly freezing outside tonight!! The heat has kicked on non-stop!!! I'm so glad we do not have to pay for the heat!!

I made it and with time to spare!

WOW! As most of you may know Black Friday is truly insane! But the whole time you can't help, but smile at yourself and all the other crazy's standing in line at 3:50a.m.! And then you start hearing the BIG crazy's talk about coming down after dinner last night! I got to Kohl's, got what I wanted PLUS SOME! I was in line and BAM, someone decided to leave this "un-named gift" right THERE. (Not naming gift because I don't know who I'm giving it to IF ANYONE!) It's originally $150, but after sale and rebate it's $50! How could I not get it? It was sitting there staring at me. It was the HOT item you saw everyone hanging onto around the store (well, everyone from the front of the line). So, in Kohl's 4:00am out of Kohl's 4:50am and then off to hit Best Buy. Got there in time to stand in line (looked over at Toys R Us and thought you Colleen!! HOPE YOU MADE IT!!! ) Best Buy... what can I say it's the Mecca of Black Friday. People would rather pee their pants waiting in line than lose their place! I heard one guy who got there at 1:30am to get a "ticket" for some tv. I got what I wanted at Best Buy as well (again, can't say what...). I also got something I wasn't really planning on getting, but got it anyway. I swear, I can never "cut back" at Christmas time. I JUST FRIGGIN' LOVES IT!!!!
I got in and out of Best Buy with what I wanted and it was only 5:45am. I didn't really have any other places I wanted to go so I decided to just head home. Stopped at Dunkin' and got home to meet Tim just as he was getting the shower to start his day. At least I'll be on time for work for once!!

So Much TURKEY!

Tim and I have had a turkey in the freezer forEVER (almost). And we decided to finally cook it (with a little coaching from Colleen). Our freezer just isn't that large and we also have a ham in their so you know what we'll be doing in a couple of weeks (cooking our first ham!) So anyway, Monday (or was it Sunday?) I took the turkey out and have been unthawing it all week. At the time I wasn't even thinking that Thanksgiving will be just a few days away when I cook it. O well, we'll have turkey tonight, on thanksgiving and again on saturday (my grandparents are having their thanksigiving on saturday). This is actually the first time I've ever cooked a turkey. I got the bag like Colleen suggested so I'm thinking I can't frig this thing up!!! =o) Tim insisted I put the stuffing inside the turkey which I think seems a little gross considering the inside LOOKS disgusting!!! But I did it anyway, and I'm sure I'll eat it.

Not a good time

Monday I had an impacted wisdom tooth removed. I stayed awake for the process for 2 reasons, you heal quicker and it costs about $200-$300 less. I had no idea when a tooth is impacted it means they must SAW it away from the jawbone! First off, I felt absolutely NO PAIN during this procedure. But the loud saw noise was almost scary! Lucky me, (or unlucky) I have strong jaw which made this procedure more difficult. My cheek is pretty swollen. I was given Vicodin for the pain... NEVER AGAIN! I took 2 on Monday and felt fine, just tired... But Tuesday early morning I woke up NOT FEELING GOOD!! The very little I ate on monday was no longer in my body. (which could be part of the reason I got sick, I could barely eat anything!) I slept almost all day yesterday - and did not take anymore pain medication!!! Today I'm feeling better and I went to work (I'm on lunch break right now). I still look like a squirrel with 1 cheek full of acorns. I wouldn't be surprised if it bruises.

Christmas Cards!!!

I've never made my own Holiday cards before (or any cards for that matter), but I decided to do them this year. I really like making them - even more than I like scrapping!! Most of my cards are pretty simple so far. Just starting to get my feet wet with the creativity side of card making. And making the cards is getting me into the holiday spirit very quickly!! =o)

***I can't seem to figure out how to get the pictures to look better and cropped properly. ***

I'm a Board Member!!

I met with the Keep Bangor Beautiful (KBB) board this evening and I am now officially a part of the organization! For those of you who do not know KBB puts on the Bangor Garden Show every year! The Garden Show is there biggest fundraiser. I'm excited and I really think it's going to be a lot of fun. A couple of weeks ago I met with the Bangor Garden Show Preview Night Committee (or just Preview Night Committee for short). KBB has lots of committees and this is just one of them. If you're interested in getting involved you let me know!! =o)

You got some good lookin' platelet's!!

Dad, Karen and Jason are coming over tomorrow to watch the Pats vs Colts game. I made some pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, bought some beer, chips, fruit and veggies and we'll probably get a couple of pizzas! Can't wait! =o) I got some laundry done today and donated blood - which I hadn't done in a year! I set a personal record 7 minutes and 20 seconds! I usually takes me about twice that, guess I got good platelet's haha! At least that's what they told me at the Red Cross! Tim's hanging out with Ben, they're making some music on his computer. I just finished up my cookies and now have begun to eat them!!! =o) Despite the weather being crappy I feel like being out and about. I'd really like to be shopping for Christmas, but I'll probably wait until my next pay check. I get paid every other Friday and this month I get paid 3 times! So it works out really well and gives me some extra money for shopping without dipping into my savings or using credit cards! Me loves shopping! Ugh... I think I ate too much raw cookie dough! Belly feels a little wiggly!!!

Boston

All I got were some shots of Boston. You'll notice the "night" shots didn't exactly work out, but I thought they were funny so I'm posting them anyway! The concert was more than awesome!!! We had such a great time. My feet were killing me because we walked there and back and I wore heels. Tim told me to wear sneakers, but sneakers just didn't go with my outfit!! Even Coco Crisp from the Red Sox was at the concert!!! =o) I really loved the size of the concert. Being in a club obviously limited the number of people attending PLUS it was a Wednesday so the club wasn't really full. Tim and I were in a perfect spot on the 2nd floor so we could look down right at the entire band. The hotel room wasn't really all that wonderful, but the balcony was pretty cool!! On our way home we stopped at IHOP in Portland - I think it's become our new favorite restaurant!! YUMMY!

Tuesday, October 30, 2007

I'm ready to go!

We're leaving tomorrow around noon to go to Boston for the night!! Lyrics Born plays at about 8:00 so we'll check into the hotel around 4:00, hang out, eat dinner and head over to the Paradise Club! Our hotel room has a balcony overlooking Boston - LOVE IT! I haven't been to Boston for a few years so I'm excited! And I've never seen a concert in a club...I've only seen them at civic centers and once outdoors. Think there's a difference? =)
Tonight I'll have to figure out the "perfect" outfit. It might even require me buying something new. Hmmm.. Something new... sounds good! =o)

My only worry... we get lost!! YIKES!! =) We have mapquest directions for every possible direction. Bangor to Hotel, Hotel to club, club to Hotel and Hotel to Bangor. =o)

I think they make this stuff up!

I went to the dentist today to get a "small" filling. I couldn't even see this so called cavity, but the X-rays show a cavity... or do they?
Dr says: see this itsy bitsy almost invisible white spec?
Me says: uhh...I guess so.
Dr. says: that is a cavity.
Me says: it is?
So... here I am. Bottom lip feels about an inch thick and I think I might be drooling. And I have to go back again in February for another - joy joy.

Halloween Party

We had a great time at Paul and Crystal's Halloween party last night! Tim a.k.a Space Ghost was an enormous hit! All he had to do was start dancing like a dork and everyone would crack up laughing - including myself!

MMMM...

I did a little baking this evening. I made Tim some Crumb Cake. He usually brings it to work to share because we would never eat it all. He always comes home with an empty pan so I don't think the guys at Freightliner mind!

I made myself some Blueberry Crisp. Which I will also probably bring some to work because I will not eat nearly half of it. Tim doesn't really like it, I guess he isn't a big blueberry fan. I've already ate 2 pieces. It's so delicious after it cools off a little but the blueberries are still warm. MMMMM!

(me saying) Spank-ity Spank Spank, Spank-ity Spank Spank (while hoping around the living room)

Me love those Patriots!! I was definitely nervous about tonight's game. And for awhile it looked like the Cowgirls really had a chance to win! But, geez... was it 12 penalties? I suppose they had to do SOMETHING! And that yummy Welker - I could snack on him for awhile! =o) What do you think Rick? Pretty delicious looking!!! I don't think the Pats will go undefeated, as much as I would like that to happen it just doesn't seem realistic. For now, 6-0 settles very well with me!!
Next year I WILL have tickets to at least 1 game! And I WILL be 1 of those crazy people - painted face, crazy wig, no shirt... haha, just kidding! I'd have a shirt on!

What I watch on TV

So, Nicole posted this thing about her favorite TV shows and asked what everyone else watchs. Please keep in mind we do not have cable!! Here it goes:

Shows I watch all the time:
Ghostwhisperer
Criminal Minds
CSI
Jericho
How I Met Your Mother
Two and a Half Men
Desperate Housewives
Kid Nation - okay, so it's a little retarded at times, but I'm hooked!!

Stuff we get on Netflix:
Weeds
Deadliest Catch

Shows I watch some of the time:
Greys Anatomy
Without a Trace
My Name is Earl
House
Friends

I think that's about it. I don't think there is really much else to choose from on regular TV. When I list out the shows I watch I didn't realize I watched that many. I was one of those "I don't watch much TV" people. Guess I'm wrong!!

Wednesday, October 10, 2007

You have got to be kidding me!!!

I got a letter today saying how this company is only going to interview the 3 applicants that have "experience" in the field. I DIDN'T EVEN GET AN INTERVIEW AND I GOT AN "unfortunately" YOU'RE-NOT-THE-GIRL-FOR-US LETTER!! What the heck am I going to do? I'm really not having much luck finding any jobs. There are like a million nursing jobs advertised, but I find a paralegal job advertised like once every 30 days! I have a different job I'm applying for - not a paralegal job. I guess I have to let go of the paralegal idea and just find myself a job!! =(

Kickin' the heat on

UGH! I've never hated winter so much as I hate it in this apartment. This apartment is the "DRAFTY-EST" place I have ever lived (and I used to live in a trailer and those are pretty drafty!) The heat blows and it gets like 100 degrees in here and then within 30 minutes you're like "where the hell did the heat go?" It's great in the summer time because it stays pretty cool. The heat is also that INSANELY dry heat ( I suppose all heat is "dry", but you get it) that gives me bloody noses in mid-winter! bluck! The house is just old and the owners haven't taken the time to properly seal it up. The crazy part of that is they pay for the heat - great for me, but ridiculous for them!! I imagine if my apartment is drafty so are the other 2!! Again, I don't pay for it so whatever! But they could save themselves alot of money if they even just sealed the windows! Sitting on our couch (which most of you know is underneath a large window) we feel such a draft - and the windows are fairly new so there is no reason they couldn't have made them a little more energy efficient! Okay, enough about the crappy heat. I have to say - I'm already excited for Christmas! Yeah, I just love it! I've even bought some small things here and there for karen and my mom. I'm not really sure what to get Tim this year. Definitly less extravagant than last year. He said he wants some new computer speakers so I might just do that. I just took Tim back to work so I'm relaxing by myself, doing a little job searching online.

home early

I came home early today after a quick stop at the Career Center. I don't know if any of you have ever been to the CC, but it's kinda interesting. I have a whole new website to look for jobs now. It's all free which is nice! I get weekly e-mails about any jobs that relate to what I'm interested in doing. No reason for coming home other than I HATE MY JOB so I left! Yeah, that's right... I JUST LEFT! Honestly, I won't even be missed and when I go in on Tuesday it'll be like I never left at 1:30 on Friday. By now you've noticed my scrap pages. They're no CJ's (Colleen Jordan's), but I like them. =o) I like the pic's of Karen and I. I've just about finished my scrapbook from camp this year. I've been reading a really great book - Mr. Murder by Dean Koontz. I've never read anything by Koontz, but like I said I'm really enjoying this book!

It's a 3 day weekend and I need it. My head is about to fall off from stress! I need to find a new job and I need to find it NOW!!!

Wild Acres Campground

After 3 hours of fighting with my computer - here are my pic's from camp this weekend. Karen cooking everyone dinner! YUMMY!

Karen's BIG DADDY!! =o) He hates his pic taken - it's unfortunate for him I was there!

We had a great time at camp. Took a trip to the Beach - I can't believe people were swimming it was so COLD!!! Karen and I didn't plan on wearing the same shirt either!

Shipyard Pumpkinhead

"Shipyard Pumpkinhead Ale is a crisp and refreshing wheat ale with delightful aromatics and subtle spiced flavor. Hints of cinnamon and nutmeg make this fall brew a flavor sensation. Avaiable September - October. 4.5% alcohol by volume."
MMMM... it's so good. My friend Trish's birthday was tonight so some of her friends (yes, I'm one of those) went to the SeaDog for awhile. I had a great time!!! Everybody was so funny! I got her a gift - some "finger fun" - a sex toy shaped like a finger that vibrates and is water proof which turned out to be a hit. Anyway, I'm home now with a slight "happy" buzz on and I'll be ready for bed shortly!

Fun Weekend

Saturday I went to Fort Knox with a friend of mine. That wasn't really the plan, but that's what ended up happening. Tim and I did a little grocery shopping and just hung out together.

Venom came crawling out during the Patriots game on Sunday. I couldn't help but crack up laughing. You'd think the whole thing was predetermined.

Venom strikes an intimidating pose for us.

The Patriot's won - of course! I'm excited they're doing well this year!

Tim and his new Patriots cozy! I don't know why his mouth is open like that though ... ??
Sunday night Tim and I went bowling with Leigh and Jared. We had a good time (that means I won) and then they came over here afterwards. We hung out for awhile, watched some tv, chatted...they left around 10:00.

Good Evening All

What's been going on? I guess not much. To quickly touch base on work: the bank knows I am looking for a new job and are okay with me staying until I find one. Although, I do feel my boss would prefer I move on sooner rather than later. I've had a couple of interviews, 1 went well, 1 didn't. the "went well" 1 I haven't heard back from yet... not sure if I even want it because it's a guaranteed OT job - all the time! I don't mind occasional OT, but not 50 hrs a week every week!!! (and it's salary) Other than work things have been good. Tim's still riding his bike to work even though the mornings have been pretty chilly. I'm guessing once this month is over we'll have to figure out a "commuting" plan. Tomorrow I have a "lunch date" with the executive director of Keep Bangor Beautiful (Bangor's non-profit recycling organization). I'll be signing up to be a member, possibly be a part of the board. I'm excited about it. Recycling is important to me so I think getting involved with KBB will be fun. Saturday I'm going hiking with my friend Trish. We're going to Acadia, I haven't been in forever!! Sunday the Pats play the Bills! I'm still pumped from the last game!! =)

"We should know better than to make the Pats mad"

I read an article today at work on ESPN.com about the Patriots win over the Chargers last night. Seriously, I thought I was going to cry. It's a great article!! It makes me proud to be a New England Patriots fan. The article ends with Bruschi saying "He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." How could you possibly NOT respect this team? "it was obvious Belichick's team had his back." Despite Colleen's dislike for NFL Sunday's I'd go as far as to say even she respects the Patriots!

"Had the Patriots played with much more focus or emotion -- or, hey, been allowed to steal the San Diego defensive signals -- there is no telling how bad a beat-down New England would have administered." Can I get an AMEN!?

I love Fairies!

I've been in the mood to take pictures lately, but not much to take pictures of... so I'm trying to "create" picture opportunities. A couple of my friends bought this fairy for me one Christmas while we were in College. It's my biggest fairy and one of my favorites. I've been collecting fairies for about 8 years, mainly ones made by Dezine Collectibles. I usually just get them as gifts and stuff.

This last one is my favorite.

Sluggish

I don't know what the hell this thing is, but I'm guessing a GIANT slug!!! Just as Tim was off the steps this morning he saw this big ass thing! He took a picture of it with his phone and made me come out to see it. I figured if it was still there when I left I would grab some pic's of it with my camera. They didn't come out that great.

You can kinda see a reference of how big it is compared to the nail head in the porch. It looks kinda like a mini snake! I've never seen a slug with black spots like this.

The simple things....

Tim outside having a smoke. I'm so happy he doesn't smoke inside!
This is your brain on drugs.

Today is laundry day. We did our laundry in Brewer today and we came home while it was drying. Tim wanted to watch the US Open so I went and picked it up. On my way to get it I realized Wilson Street was completely out of power. (I mean traffic lights, stores, the entire mini mall that our laundry mat is in). So, I was worried our laundry wasn't dry... well mine for some reason was dry, but Tim's was damp - very damp!

Luckily he didn't have much laundry this week because as you can see we had to hang it around the apartment!

Tim thinks our apartment stinks when the windows stay shut all day so we bought some cheap smelly stuff. Hopefully it works.. if not it was only 94 cents!!

And I am so unhappy with my job. I am desperatly trying to find a new one. I had an interview the other day at an attorney's office, but I was so not impressed. Even if they decide to offer me the job I can not see myself working in that office. I look in the paper every day and I look at a handful of websites each week - no luck so far. I think I'm going to just start mailing out my resume to different places.
