Merry Christmas and Happy Engagement!

So many of you are dying for this blog (okay, probably "not so many", but I know Nicole is haha) Yes, Timothy has proposed. I was completely NOT expecting it. He did it Christmas Eve around 10:30 that night. I said "are you serious?, Are you serious?, ARE YOU SERIOUS?" haha! Karen was over spending the night and she was in the bathroom at the time. I asked Tim if Karen knew and he said no. So I ran into the bathroom and just held out my hand to her... guess what she said... "seriously" haha* I guess Tim's mom knew and his friend Ben knew, but that was it. They only knew he had the ring, but didn't know when he was going to propose. We're still in the discussion stages of setting a date. My family is excited about the engagement, but I think Tim's family is WAY excited about the engagement haha! :) I knew they would be so I was very excited to tell them... I practically ran into the house and AT Colleen to show her and Janice. Tim did a wonderful job picking out a ring BY HIMSELF!! He had ideas on what I liked, but he went out and did the shopping on his own. He ended up going to JB Robinson in the mall. Said he left the mall once and came back later. He was nervous about buying it, but really liked the sales guy so that helped I guess. :)

Christmas at our house and then we headed to my Gram and Gramps house. Christmas at our house was awesome! We got so much stuff it was crazy!! As you could see the tree was STUFFED with gifts - LOVE IT!

We had a grea time at the Jordan's, as always. Everyone was very happy with their gifts - as you can see from the photos. I love the ones of Colleen and Chris with there mouths wide open! I used my Victoria's Secret gift card today - yay! :) Went to JB Robinson to ask about getting my ring size, it'll take 10 days so he gave me a temporary fix so I can show off a little while longer! I also found out the ring is 1 carat. :) I never had ANYTHING 1 carat before. :)
I'm pretty excited about everything. I'm still winding down from the Christmas high, but the engagement high will be with me until the wedding! I've got lots of planning and thinking to do. I'll need to come up with some plans, dollar figures, etc. to "present" to Tim. haha! Kind of stinks we have drained so much of our savings with the house and the holiday, but I'm sure we can make this happen... actually I KNOW we WILL make this happen. You only get married once, right? Or 50% of us do anyway haha! I'll be sad to no longer be a Licata, but it'll be worth it because so much more will come along being a Dunn.

I'm all done...

with my Christmas shopping! I received my last Amazon item today. I have maybe a handful of gifts left to wrap and that's it. I usually wrap as I get stuff so it makes it easier. A friend of mine has 4 kids to wrap for (only 1 is her's, the other 3 are her bf's) so I usually help her out a little. Tomorrow I might be going over there to wrap although I just saw on the news we're suppose to get 3-6'' tomorrow. Hopefully we'll have snow for Christmas.

Obie's been doing good. I'm still so happy to have a dog around!! I just love him so much! Tim really loves him too :)

Oh Christmas Tree...

Oh Christmas Tree, how lovely are your branches. Is that how it goes?

It's been a quiet day for Obie and I. Obie's been napping off and on. I didn't sleep well last night - I was worried about him being okay so I kept waking up. I took him in the backyard to play a little once I took his leash off he went nuts! He ran as fast as his little legs would carry him around the backyard. If he tried to go out front I said his name and no and he'd look at me so I'd tell him to come on and he'd book it around the backyard again. The snow balls up in his fur and I can't seem to get it out, luckily he eats most of when he comes inside. He's been good today. Tim's at work so anywhere I go Obie follows. He's been eating well which I was surprised. I thought with his emotions all worked up he wouldn't eat anything. I think he's definitely going to be a little mama's boy. :)

He's Here! He's HERE!!!!!

YAY!! Obie's finally home with us. He had a hard time leaving his owner and his owner was sad to see him go, she cried a little bit. I told her I'd be in touch and let her know how he's doing. He was very timid in the car and he was very jumpy once we brought him into the house. Finally, he started to relax a little after I took him outside to play. When he came back in he wouldn't stop following me around. The lady we bought him from said he usually followers her around or watches most everything she does. He doesn't bark at all! I still think he'll be sad for awhile and maybe a little bit confused, but I'm sure he will adjust and grow to love us! :) We also got a couple of toys he had, his crate, he has 2 coats a winter one and a rain coat, a sweater, also got his dog dish that's blue and says "prince". If he's not following me around he tends to chill out under one of the kitchen chairs. Not sure why - maybe he's hoping to make a run for it! Ohmp, gotta go - Tim's ready to decorate the tree!! *YAY*

TREEEE!!!

We decided to get our Christmas tree tonight. Last year we got the tree the day we wanted to decorate it, but then when we got it home we realized it needed a few days to settle the branches down. So, this year I mentioned us getting it a few days early so this weekend we will be able to decorate it. Hopefully Obie doesn't get into it!! YIKES! Anyway, we left around 6:00 to pick out a tree in Brewer. We got home and Tim looked at me and says "oh, sh*t"... yeah, he forgot the house keys. Unfortunatly, we do not keep a spare key outside, but Karen does have one so we called her and met her in town. What went from a 30 minute trip to get a tree ended up being a 90 minute trip to get a tree. O well! I think it looks really good! I'm happy with our choice and I look forward to decorating it (while Obie runs around my feet! YAY for a doggy!) I already have a bunch of wrapped presents to put under the tree too!

Will we or will we not get a dog

I know you are all wondering if we have Obie yet....

We were suppose to go on Friday and get him, but that did not happen. After more "discussion" this weekend between Tim and I, we have AGREED to get the dog! haha! SOOO... The date is set for this Saturday for us to take a ride to Freeport (maybe do a little shopping?) and bring Obie home to us! I'm very excited! I picked up a leash and a doggy bowl for him. The lady selling him to us is going to give us his crate/bed. I guess he is use to sleeping in a crate at night and usually puts himself to bed when he's tired. And I think we'll crate him while we're not home until he we can trust him not to pee in the house or chew on stuff.

I'll post photos of Obie when he's here!!

Bbblack Friddday

I totally set my alarm for 3:00a.m., but I totally forgot to turn it on! hahaha!! Thankfully I woke up at 3:02 and realized I had to pee and then realized I had to get up!! :) I then proceeded to wake Karen who was not having it. I changed and had begun my few morning activities (brush teeth, put contacts in...etc) And went back to Karen around 3:10 who hadn't budged from her bed! She got up and we got ourselves together fairly quickly and Karen says "so far I don't want to do this again next year." So, we head out the door about 3:30, get 1/2 mile down the road and Karen says she forgot her cellphone so we turn around to get it (if we got split up we needed to be able to find each other). As we are heading back to the house I see the trusty glow of my gas light - LOVE IT! We get some gas and then FINALLY we're on the road to BIG Deals and SUPER savings!

First stop was Kohl's - they opened at 4:00. I grabbed the kitchenaid knife set on sale for $29.99 originally priced at $99.99 (or so I thought) re-grouped with Karen in the bedding area, grabbed a few more deals and got in line. If anyone knows what Kohl's looks like than you'll know what I mean when I say I got in line in the back of the store in front of the bedding department! And a solid 2 hours later we were finally checking out!! At checkout my knife set rang up at $99.99 on sale originally priced for $149.99. I told the cashier that wasn't what I thought it was, we found the knife set in the flyer and I guess there were some minor differences so an employee goes and gets the right set (or so we thought). That also scans in at $99.99 on sale. What does the cashier do? He changes the price to $29.99, the manager over rides it and I got a $149.99 knife set for $29.99! WAHOO*!!

Next stop was Lowe's for a gift I can not share because it's for Tim. But I got it for $30, orginally priced at $90! WAHOO AGAIN!!!

We head to DD for a little fuel for the tummy and skip over to Wal-Mart to see what we can find. We ended up with a few decent buys and then decided to head back over to the mall. The mall was stupid and we didn't stay long. We went home after that and got back around 10:00. I'm pleased with the success of the trip and intend on doing it again next year - Karen said maybe.

Obie Update: Getting Closer!

I'm getting closer to owning this dog! The lady selling him is asking $450 but said in her e-mail she is willing to negotiate because a good home is what is most important to her. I e-mailed her back and asked if she would be willing to go as low as $250. She responded by saying she would think about it. Right now she is in Colorado and when she returns (Monday) we're going to set up a day to meet and I'll get a chance to meet Obie also. She e-mailed me these couple of pictures from when Obie was a puppy. He really isn't much bigger than this now. Although, he looks much larger in these pics because of his fur. She'll e-mail me more pics when she returns. Honestly, I am getting a little bit nervous about having a dog around - now that it seems like I could ACTUALLY have one around. I just don't want the dog to tear things up and pee all over my stuff. Ultimately I want a dog very badly and am looking forward to this being MY doggie!!!

My belly hurts...

I stayed home from work today. The past couple of days my stomach has been bothering me. I was going to go in to work a couple of hours late, but after my shower I decided to stay home instead. O well, it's not like I've been all that busy at work anyway - that's another thing all together. It'll probably take me an hour to get caught up from the stuff I missed today - woohoo*

I found him... his name is Obie (I'm thinking he's named after Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars haha, LOVE IT), he's a Poochon (a poodle!) haha! Never would I have said I wanted a poodle!!!!! But he's super way cute and Tim even likes him. I found him in the Uncle Henrys, he's 1.5 years old, sort of grayish in color, and he looks like he has a permanent smile on his face!!! Unfortunatly I wish I had saved the picture from the Uncle Henrys ad but I didn't and now I can't find it anymore. Down Side - yes, there is a down side...the current owner paid $1,650 for him from a breeder in Iowa (or so they say) and although they didn't mention how much they are charging for him I can imagine it's going to be pretty darn close to their purchase price. But I'm not going to totally give up yet - maybe, just maybe these people have a really kind heart and would be willing to give him up for the reasonable cost of $250! hahahahha!! What do you guys think? Do I have a chance? Ya, I know... not very likely. But I really really love him and I at least want to say I tried to get him. I e-mailed the lady back last night and gave my reasons for wanting Obie along with asking how much she is charging. He's in Freeport, ME so it wouldn't be too bad of a drive to get him. Hopefully I'll hear back from her tonight.

AHHH!!!! I don't WANT a dog... I NEEEEED a DOG!!!!

I search and I search every day the same thing. No dogs seem to jump out at me and say "hey, I'll be your new doggy". I've inquired on a couple of dogs, but it never seems to work out.

I went to the Town of Frankfort Office today to pick up a deposit for the bank and when I opened the door the sweetest cocker spaniel greeted me. (For those who do not know, I grew up with a cocker spaniel and he was my all time favorite dog!) This little spaniel came right up to me wagging his tail with a little empty sandwich bag in his mouth. He was so proud of that sandwich bag. I bent down to say hello and he continued to wag his tail and jump on me. When I was about to tuck him in my jacket and run out the door another one comes around the corner! This one was a little more timid (possibly female), but still very sweet! At this point I realized I was there for a reason (to pick up the deposit) haha - so I tended to my business and quietly said goodbye to my new found friends. It was one of those moments that if the owner said "Want one" I would of said "hell yes"!!! Despite Tim saying he doesn't want a cocker spaniel. sigh*

The entire ride back to the bank my heart was breaking because I knew I would later be going home to a doggy-less house. :( I recently finished my desperate search for the right dog, but again no luck.

Election Day 2008

As I get older I'm beginning to gain more of an interest in politics. This is the first year I spent time watching some of the debates and it was also the first time I ever voted (A registered Democrat thank you very much)!! I'm guessing part of that has to do with this year being such an important election year. I'm even watching the News as they follow the Polls. Tim would rather put in a movie, but I'm kind of interested in watching the hype! Yes, I did vote for Obama (in case you couldn't figure that out by the Obama sign). I find it interesting how people look at me when I say "I voted for Obama" some appear to be unmoved while others act as though I just told them I have small pox. I also find it interesting that some people don't want to share who they voted for. Why? Is it suppose to be a secret? Do you think people are going to judge you or dislike you? IF they do than good because you probably don't want them talking to you anyway! By no means do I walk around asking people who they voted for because I'm sensitive to peoples right to privacy. But you know what I'm saying, right?

*If you voted for McCain don't dare post a comment I swear I will reek havoc all over your blog! HAHA! JOKE*

Halloweeeen!!

I'm very excited about Halloween tomorrow - not because we are going to a party, but because I'm really hoping to get lots of trick-or-treaters!! I've bought about $20+ worth of candy! A friend of mine convinced me I need an assortment, not just 1 kind of candy (chocolate and non-chocolate stuff) haha!! So I went to Sams Club and bought 2 big bags, along with a small bag of Smarties I had already purchased at Wal-mart. I've got my candy all mixed up in a bowl and I made a few of the small candy bags to hand out - I had some left over from a few years ago. Tomorrow is orange and black day at work haha! We're encouraged to wear something orange and black... How creative huh? I had to borrow an orange shirt from a friend - who has orange clothes? (Duh, my friend haha)

Tim's Project

Tim's been working on building us some shelves to organize our basement a little more. He finished them up tonight and they came out very nice!! He's very proud of himself! :) I'm the one who put the stuff on the shelves and needless to say I did not organize it "properly". Although, I told him he better not move anything around because the way I set it up was so I can access the stuff on easily. Sometime's he can be so anal!!! haha!
His next project is building himself a work bench. He's turning into Mr. Handyman - can you believe it?

Pumpkin Carvings!

Karen and I had a great time carving pumpkins tonight. We spent about 2 hours carving out 3 pumpkins. Tim wasn't interested in carving 1 so I got him to take a few pictures. We asked Tim what he wanted the 3rd pumpkin to look like so he at least had a little input with the project.

Saturday, October 18, 2008

So what's going on?

Well, not much really. Today we raked some leaves and put them into some pumpkin leaf bags. I think I might go to the dollar store tomorrow and see if I can find some more little outside halloween decorations.
We were still having some trouble with our heat so Lew came by again today and got things fixed after about 3 hours!! I think we are finally good now! We woke up to a very chilly 59 degrees!!
I'm looking forward to Halloween - I'm hoping we will get some trick-or-treaters. I'll probably buy a big bowl of candy, put my witches hat on, sit and wait. And I'm totally not one of those people who buys the candy they DON'T like just so they won't eat it. I'm so getting everything I love!!! :) Like I said, we don't really know if we'll get any kids and if we don't than I don't want a bunch of candy to go to waste!! Tootsie Rolls will be the #1 candy on my list!!
My scrapbooking efforts have been pushed aside the past week. I ordered some new pictures a couple of days ago so maybe that will get me going again. Maybe even tomorrow now that I'm mentioning it. :)

HEAT!!

When Dad and Jason started working on the room downstairs they accidently broke the water pipe that runs through the heating baseboard. Needless to say ALL the water through the entire house baseboards came running out the pipe downstairs! It was crazy!! haha!! I guess when this happens air gets into the pipes and the pipes need to be bled before the heat will work. Well, Dad and Jason didn't know how to do it, but Lew did. Lew was only able to do about half of the bleeding for the pipes and I told him not to worry about it (because it was the middle of the summer).
And not that it was ever a big deal that we haven't had any heat because Tim and I said we wouldn't use the heat until at least October (to save $$$). Lew came by today to finish it up and we now have heat. I have to say there were a few evenings that 62 degrees was mighty chilly! 62 feels different if there is a heat in the room, but a no-heat-62 IS COLD! The coldest it got in the house was 60... so all in all it was totally worth waiting to use any heat, and I actually have it off now anyway - it's pretty nice today. For now we'll just turn it on during the evenings.
Some evenings I would bake cookies or be sure to use the oven as part of my dinner plans. It helped take the chill off for a little while. :)

Will the room ever be DONE?

I DON'T KNOW!!!!
Dad was back over yesterday and today getting some of the mudding done. He still needs to do 2 more coats which will be done next weekend. Lew will be over sometime in the next 2 days to finish off the wiring to the outlets. Tim's getting very anxious to move his stuff downstairs and frankly so am I!
Scrapbooking:
I've done about 10 pages since my last post. I'm enjoying scrapbooking again! I found a few little tools I had forgot I purchased so that was a nice surprise. I cleaned up my work space a little and reorganized a few things. I think once I move my stuff into the purple room I'll set up another table so I can spread out a little bit more. (At least until I get sick of it again!) :)

Scrapbooking... what's that?

So it's been awhile since I pulled out the ole scrapbookin' tools -11 months to be exact! I decided to just pick up where I left off... Christmas of 2007. 1. I realized I had taken very few photos last Christmas and 2. I realized how glad I was I took so few photos last Christmas. haha* There are also camp photos (many camp photos) that I'd like to scrap. I'm not going to worry about scrapping EVERY picture like I use to. I've started putting some photos in albums like most people do, I just can't scrap them all - it's too costly and time consuming. My goal will be to finish up the Christmas pics by the end of the weekend.
With all that said I only made it through 1 page tonight. It took a lot just to get that done!

LOOK AT ALL THE STUFF!!

Tim and I really got so much great stuff from his Nana's house this weekend. We have most everything organized and in it's place. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the dresser with the mirror! It looks beautiful!!! :) We have the island set up in the kitchen and I think it'll stay. We were unsure at first because it looks like it's sorta "floating" in the middle of the kitchen. But it looks good and it just takes some getting use to. We'll probably paint it white and get something to cover up the bottom part (where the wheels show) so it blends in better with the floor. Colleen decided she didn't want the 3rd dresser we brought back so Tim and I kept it for our "baby" hahaha!! Which goes nicely with our rocking chair (also for the baby)! :)

All the furniture was piled into our kitchen.

As most everyone knows the original receipt for the bedroom set was kept. It was originally purchased in 1958 for about $541.00 and after 50 years (that's more than 4% inflation per year) that would be almost $4,000 today!!! SERIOUSLY DUDES!! And the shape this furniture is in it's just amazing!
The snowblower could not have come at a better time either. We were planning on shoveling all winter!

(Putting aside the fact that I went to someones house who I have never met and got to pick through their stuff - uncomfortable? YES!)

Music Room is coming along!!

My Dad came over yesterday AND today to work on our room downstairs. He (with Tim's much needed assistance) got the room completely sheetrocked!! We had finished the ceiling yesterday - that was crazy hard because the sheets were 12 feet long and VERY heavy!! Doing the walls today my Dad pretty much did it by himself because Tim was at work. Tim's going to be so excited to see it when he gets home!

Next Steps: my Dad will be coming back to do the taping and mudding. Then it's primer and paint. After that we'll need to put some carpet down and get a new door. It's coming together quickly now and it's very exciting!!! WAHOO* Despite my excitement now I'll probably hate it when the room is done because I'll never see Tim again!!

I Denounce My Love of the Patriots!!!

Okay, maybe I wont go that far, BUT I am VERY VERY VERY upset right now!! Is Brady really going to be out the WHOLE Season!!!!? (yes) And what the hell is going to happen to the Patriots game... it'll probably go right down the pooper. I swear I'm not even going to watch this season, it's just hopeless! Yeah, so I'm being dramatic and I will still watch, but it's really upsetting. They needed to come back this year and pull off a super bowl win to make up (well, not make up but at least "fix) for last years loss. sigh* I get so sick of saying "there's always next year" the friggin' year just started and I already have to say "there's still next year!" DAMN IT!

In case you don't know what I'm talking about, but want to here is the article.

And then....

Our sheet rock was delivered today. YAY! But unfortunately we will not be working on the room this weekend - Jason can't make it over! :( Maybe next weekend... or maybe he'll surprise us and just stop on by!! haha

I've been on a crazy reading kick lately - finishing books within 3-4 days and immediatly picking up another one. Usually I need breaks in between books so I can "absorb" then I move on to the next one. But all I read about is ooey gooey love and stuff so they're all the same!!

I think tonight we are going to make some rice krispie squares. The recipe is ridiculously easy but I've never made them before. Tonight I went grocery shopping and decided to pick up some rice krispies and marshmallows. Should be yummy!!!

Tim wants to take a ride down to the Lewiston area and check out a car (can't wait) - not that I really have anything else planned other than some laundry and maybe mow the lawn. I wish I could read in the car, but I get so car sick!

Okay, it's Rice Krispie TIME!!

Making Progress!

Lew and Jason came by yesterday and roughed in the electricity to the room in the basement. Then Jason and Tim started on the insulation. Tim finished up the walls and started insulating the ceiling last night. The ceiling insulation is mainly for sound control. Tim's going to finish the insulation tomorrow and then hopefully my Dad and Jason will be over next weekend to start sheet rocking! WAHOO* Tim is getting very excited to get the room finished - he can't wait to start jamming down there - and I can't wait either!!

Party At Our House!

We had a party at our house last night. It was completely random - meaning Tim said on the way home from work he wanted some drinking buddies over so he called Jared and Leigh, I got Karen and Jason and Chris came by a little later.

We had a great time! Jason is ridiculously camera shy so I snapped the camera at him until I got one of his face! :) Chris, Jared, and Tim were playing with their cell phones and the blue tooth feature - so fun (sarcasm). A little froggy was stuck to the back window for hours last night - haha! He was cute* Around 10:00 we fired up the BBQ and made some hot dogs. Overall we really didn't do much of anything - just hung out, talked and laughed. Good times!

The DOG fever

AHHHH!! I've got it I tell ya... I've got the DOG fever. I HAVE GOT TO HAVE A DOG!!! I've been searching online (petfinder.com, unclehenrys, Bangor Daily). I don't want to spend a whole lot because we don't have a lot of money. But my gosh, Dog's rarely sell for under $400! Because after I spend the $400 I would need to go out and buy all the dog "stuff" and of course food. I have one dog I'm inquiring about, but I don't want to talk about him because I'll jinx it... okay done talking about him (no, it's not a cocker spaniel). :) Tim isn't really a fan of the idea of getting a dog, but he's willing to give in to this because he knows how important it is to me! I LOVE LOVE LOVE dogs and I miss having one around. I know I don't want to get a puppy because of the time it takes to train him. I just assume get one who is about 3-5 years old - one that is house trained and stuff. Although, by this age they can have already picked up bad habits. There's just no winning!

(running) on the road again...

About the time we went to camp (first week of July) I gave up on running. I had been doing really well and had got up to running 5 miles (all at the same time haha). And lately I've been thinking about getting back into it and finally today I said "this is the day." It really was a nice evening to run - kind of cool but the sun was out.(And on a side note: some of the leaves on the trees have already turned orange! HOLY CRAP DUDES) I hope I can stick with it this time. My dad has a treadmill that I'm suppose to get from him so I have no excuse why I can't run during the winter months. I think if I come up with a schedule I'll be more likely to stick to it. I NEED lists and plans in order to function haha!

RADIOHEAD!

Okay, so we all know I'm not a Radiohead fan and I'll say it again, I'm not a Radiohead fan. BUT, I very much think Thom York (lead singer) is an amazing musician!! He can sing like friggin' mad! They really are a great band!! Despite their long list of depressing songs the energy was so high and the crowd was so crazy, I just couldn't help but have a good time!! I got some really good pictures and a few blurry ones. :) I still don't see myself popping in one of their CD's while cruising down the road in my car.
We stayed in a Red Roof Inn which turned out to be okay. The bed seemed clean so that was good. Although, the lobby seriously smelled of ridiculous B.O. and had dirty furniture, but it was cheaper then the other hotels in the area.

Birthday PARTY!!!

We had a really great time last night!! It was such a great day/night to be outside. We played badminton, hung out on the porch, ate BBQ chicken, burgers and hot dogs, and of course had some ice cream cake! Nothing says fun like lots of FOOD!! Tim had to work this morning at 7:00 - totally sucks!!

Going to a Concert!

Like I said before, a 30th birthday deserves a good present. And being the best girlfriend ever I got him a GOOD present! On Wednesday, August 13th we will be going to see Radiohead. YUP! He is way excited... me, not so much. haha! But I think it'll be really fun. We're going to stay over night after the concert and drive home Thursday. Get this, I've had the tickets since April!! Talk about being a secret keeper! Not usually one of my strong points when the secret is stuff like this!! Although, he kinda had an idea of what his gift was since I had to tell him to get some time off.

Tonight we're just going to have chinese and relax. We were planning to go see The Dark Knight, but it's such a ridiculously long movie (2 1/2 hours) we thought it would be better to go on the weekend. (Tim falls asleep by 8:30 half the time!)

Thursday, July 31, 2008

Thirty years later...

I'm getting very excited for Tim's birthday (Next Thursday). HE WILL BE 30!!!! I can't say what I've got for him becuase it's way awesome... at least for him it will be! To the rest of us... not so much! But, I don't want him to find out! And if for some freak reason he decides to read this blog then my surprise is ruined. We don't normally do much for our birthday's other than go to dinner or something, but I think we'll have a party next weekend, with a bbq and ice cream cake from Dairy Queen! MMM* I think it's important to make a big deal of someones 30th birthday! I don't think Tim really cares that he's 30... at least he doesn't say much about it.

THE POWER OUTAGE OF '08

So, of course I was at work when the Great Power Outage occurred as I'm sure most of you were. We all assumed the power would only be out a few minutes, but then as time started to pass everyone began to wonder what was going on. I swear people even started saying things like "...ever since 9-11 you just don' t know what can happen". We frantically searched for a battery powered radio and to our luck found a teeny tiny radio (literally about 2"x 2"). We tuned in to a station that was taking phone calls from anyone and everyone (as I think all the stations were). People were amazed at driving from Lincoln to Milford and not seeing any lights/electricity. One lady called and said "my friends mom works at Bangor Hydro and she said they were working on something and something went wrong". Clearly, this lady is a moron for calling in and second of all what she was saying was WRONG! The spokes person for Bangor Hydro was on the radio and talked about the lightening hitting the Orrington transmitter or whatever and that almost all of their customer had no power. Good Lord, NO POWER for all of Bangor Hydro customers? How could they let such a thing happen? There's no back up for when a transmitter goes down? Anyway, the 2 hours of blackness was actually rather fun at work. Everyone was in a great mood because they didn't have to work.

I wonder if Bangor Hydro will ask Channel 5 to help them release a documentary of The Power Outage of '08.

Tim's NEW room

We've begun working on the room in the basement. It was one of the projects we were really hoping to finish this summer! As you can see from the photos we have removed one wall and we are extending the room a couple more feet. Jason and Dad worked on it this weekend. Jason is my Project Manager while Dad is just a little helper (haha). But seriously, Jason is pretty much the one I'm leaning on to help get this done for us. Tim had been so indecisive about everything regarding the room so I just took charge (naturally) otherwise it would have never been started! So, really Tim wasn't very excited until he came home Sunday and saw the room. Now he can't wait to be down there. The room is bigger than the Purple Room. And I'm excited to create my "spare" bedroom/my office/scrap area/MY SPACE. :)

I'm hoping to get Dad and Jason over this weekend to work on it some more. We need to get some more material and I have Lew (my stepdad) coming to do the outlets once the studs are up (or is it "in"??, whatever). I love knowing people who can help with this stuff so we don't have to hire someone. Although, it would be much nicer if Tim and I could do this stuff on our own, but we just ain't that smart!

I Love Craig Ferguson

I rarely ever stay up late, but since I had slept so much yesterday I couldn't possibly go to sleep before 3a.m.! So I got a chance to watch Craig Ferguson. I friggin' love this guy! He is my favorite Late Night Show host by far!! When I watch him it's one of the few times I truly laugh out loud while watching TV.

Oh Boy

mi·graine –noun
an extremely severe paroxysmal headache, usually confined to one side of the head and often associated with nausea; hemicrania
.

I knew when I went to bed last night that I didn't have just any headache that a good nights sleep would wash away. Oh no, I knew when I woke up this morning it would be nasty. Little did I know how truely agonizing it was going to be to just get out of bed. Usually I can get up and walk around, jump in the shower, and eat some breakfast and feel a little better. This morning was ridiculous! I could barely stand without wanting to cry from the pain. And after about 10 minutes of being out of bed I knew this was no regular headache. I slept off and on (mostly on) until 3:00 this afternoon!!! I'm pretty dungy feeling now from all that sleep, but my headache is gone.
Tim and I are just chilling out listening to some music. I think we actually get along our best if we're just sitting quietly listening to music. haha!!

Sister Day!

For quite a few months now Karen and I have set a side a Sister Day each month. We try and do something together on that day. Although, we did just go to the beach on Saturday, that was not Sister Day. Sister Day is the 15th of each month!

We decided to go bowling today! We had a fairly good time, but I think in our minds we thought we would have a ridiculously good time! We both immediatly agreed that bowling at the Sports Arena does not compare to bowling in my living room on the Wii!! And I think if there was more than just 2 of us in the entire building it would have been a little more fun (okay, so 2 couples had shown up shortly after we got there, but you get the idea).

Tim's friends are over jamming in the purple room. I actually really don't mind when they play over here. I like some of the songs they cover and occasionally I find myself singing along. =)

Sand Beach and some hot bods!

Karen and I packed a lunch and went to Sand Beach in Bar Harbor for a few hours today. We hadn't been since we were young so we didn't recall the COST to get in. 20 freakin' dollars dudes! We had to pay for the 7 day pass because there is no 1 day pass! But, it was worth it at least this time it was, we probably will not return any time soon (well, unless we make it back within the next 7 days, haha).

The water was pretty chilly, as the ocean normally is. What we hated was the seaweed that clung to our legs in the water when the waves came in, yuck! And the ridiculous amount of sand that ended up in places sand is never suppose to be! Now I'm a little on the burnt side, but that's okay I'm hoping it'll tan right up! And I think all that sun is what is making me feel really sleepy.

Seriously Dudes

Tim just got done mowing the lawn... well the back yard. Which means the front yard is for me to do probably tomorrow though. I surely ain't doin' it tonight! Mowing the lawn is something I need to get mentally prepared for. OKay, that sounds a little much, but I just wasn't planning on doing it tonight.

As you may have noticed the last picture is of a DEAD plant. I just don't understand why plants are such desired pieces of viewing pleasure (what?). In my case it has NO viewing PLEASURE whatsoever! I was told that I have to water this plant daily... I did my "whatthehelldidyoujustsay" laugh. You can't really think I would water this thing DAILY! Honestly, what is a plant, why can't we leave them in the "wild"? Seriously Dudes, they are like wild creatures and just don't belong in a hanging pot. Yet, family seems to think it's a much needed accessory to a new home so I have 2, an outdoor plant and an indoor. My "wild" indoor plant is doing well, fortunately for the plant he only needs to be watered every couple of weeks or so.

Camp Camp Camp

Camp was wonderful again this year! We had a really great time!! I decided to keep the pictures to a limit (under 40). I normally go crazy and then have like 30 duck pictures and 20 Tim pictures. Then they all look the same from year to year! We left Tuesday afternoon, Karen and Jason came up on Thursday night. They brought their camper to stay in (the beds in the camp SUCK!). Jared and Leigh came up Friday night so there was 6 of us partying it up for the 4th. We thought for sure we would catch some fireworks from some where along the lake. We did see some in the distance and we heard some that were close, but not close enough because we couldn't see them.

We really didn't want to leave this year. It was so beautiful Saturday, but it was Karen's birthday and I wanted to go out with her. And it was nice to have Sunday to get laundry done and just relax before going back to work.

We went to The Ground Round for dinner. Then Karen, Jason and I went to the Sports Arena, played some pool and watched the race. I actually got into the friggin race!! Jason is a Kyle Busch fan (and he won) so that was interesting. I didn't know much about how races worked other than the boring dumbness of going in circles for a ridiculous amount of laps at like 190 mph! But I learned some things and I liked it. NO I'm not about to start watching them every weekend, but maybe once and awhile! =)

I have finally have my computer back so you may see more blogging from me!

Chick Hill

I went hiking up Chick Hill this morning with my friend Trish. It's not a long hike, about 30 minutes, but it's fairly steep and the view is wonderful! The weather turned out to be surprisingly warm. Once we got to the top the black flies were horrendous! We only stayed up there about 15 minutes and then decided to head back down.

When I got home I decided to mow the lawn and came about 10 feet from a doe! I was just mowing along and BAM, I'm facing the woods and she is staring at me. I was frozen then I decided to run! hahaha!! I didn't know what she would do , if anything. Then I was like TIM TIM you gotta come out here. So we walked back over to where I left the law mower and couldn't find her. Then she ran in the direction of the woods (I think she wanted to cross the road). She watched us while we watched her for awhile, but we eventually lost sight of her. Pretty cool though, huh!?

Diagnosis: new wireless router

After much deliberation it seems I need a new router not a new computer (although I'm still leaning towards the latter). I get a teeny weeny discount through Dell because of where I work so I was checking out there new Inspiron. They have some really pretty colors and patterns you can get! And after I added the features I wanted it was about $780 (w/ discount). Although, the rational side of me will kick in before the purchase goes through and I'll be stuck with my old one. At Merrill we used to do a no interest computer loan for bank employees - yeah, it was awesome!! You had your payment come out of every check. But that went bye-bye when we became Chittenden.

And I continue to be a Wii fanatic!! Karen is also a Wii fanatic. She is actually on her way over to play - I think she's using me. =o) She was just over last night to play too.

I've thrown in some random photos for your enjoyment. I figured it wouldn't hurt Tim's computer to just load a few pics on. AND LIKE HE'S EVEN GUNNA KNOW!!!

Why am I not blogging?

Because my computer has been ridiculously stupid lately. Why I don't I just use Tim's? Well, I am right now, but I can't load pic's on to his computer (and everything I want to blog about NEEDS pics). Why? Because Tim would rather I didn't. Why? It'll "slow" it down. haha! I don't know what to do with my computer. I'd like to get a new one, but I don't know. I wonder how much I could get for mine if I sold it? It's 3 years old.

Anyway, I'll try to get my computer working again so I can blog some pics. We have a bird feeder and I'm loving my birdies. Our Wii has been the absolute highlight of my life for the past couple of weeks!!! I feel like I've been insanely busy since we've got the house. Whether it's house projects or just out and about doing stuff it feels nonstop at times. I think I love it though hahaa!!

Brush Fire

This weekend we got a burn permit and burned the brush pile that was in the back yard. Don't let the pictures fool you. It was an absolute raging fire when it started. So insane I had no time to take pictures because I was running madly in and out of the house with buckets of water. Karen and Jason came over and hung out with us while we burned brush for about 5 hours. It was fun. We had a bbq and got attacked by a gazilliontrillion black flies. And nothing screams good times like a gazilliontrillion black flies. Now we just have to clean up the ashes, but the back yard already looks better. Although, we think the brush pile may have been the bunny's home because he hasn't returned since Saturday and he was coming every day. I did see a mouse run out of the burning pile though. Poor guy didn't know where to go! I said "don't go towards the house" haha!

Some Wedding Photos

So, it turned out to be a spectacular day!! Nobody fell going down the isle, a positive. My mom looked awesome in her dress! Great weather (stupid black flies!). WAAYYY too much food, but that's okay! My cookies, deviled eggs and fruit were an absolute hits! =) It was all very very fast! Karen and I got there at about 9:30 and didn't stop until 5:00. Wedding was at 1:00, Mom and Lew were gone by 3:30 and the guests were gone shortly after. Mom and Lew went up north to a cabin for the night. Karen, Gram, Gramp and myself cleaned up some before we left so they didn't come home to a disaster.

I'm hoping my wedding is next!

Wedding Tomorrow

My mom is getting married tomorrow. I spent about half the day just getting things together, baking cookies, cutting fruit, and making deviled eggs. Karen is here, she is spending the night. She's in the kitchen making her veggie platter. We have to be at my moms early in the morning so we can start decorating. They are having the wedding and reception at there house out on Pushaw. The wedding is at 1:00 and the reception will follow. Alright, I gotta try my dress on 1 more time to be sure I still like smokin' hot in it! HAHA =O)

MY WILD BUNNY!!

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting to see some sort of wild life (other than birds and squirrels) in our back yard. FINALLY, tonight I looked out the window and there was a bunny eat some grass or clovers over near the brush pile in the back yard. He's been out there for at least an hour! He's pretty big and I got fairly close to him.

I'd like to leave some snacks out for him, but I'm afraid I'll attract unwanted wildlife like skunks, raccoons or porcupine's. Hopefully he'll return on his own.
