If you're happy and you know it clap your hands

*Clap* Clap*

I am happy to be leaving the Mortgage Department. I found out today I will be starting on May 14th with half days - half in the Mortgage dept. and half in the Brokerage dept. Then May 21st I will officially no longer be a part of the Mortgage Dept. =o) I have to say I will miss it, but I will also be very happy to get away from it!

I made some cookies tonight, the ones with the hershey kiss on top. MMM! CLAP CLAP! =o)

MS Walk

This morning was the MS Walk. The walk was 5 miles. They had tons of breakfast stuff, coffee, juice, bagels, donuts, biscotti, and danishes. Tim Horton's was there with the breakast food. They also served lunch. I had only 3 of my 6 people that signed up come to the walk, but that's okay, it was still fun!!!!

Karen, Me and Chelsea. Chelsea works in Merrill Banks Commercial Loan department.

Me, Lori and Chelsea. Lori works for Treworgy & Baldacci - one of the attorney offices I work with regularly.

The rest of my day has been pretty lazy. We were at the walk just after 8:00 so I decided since it was Saturday I needed to take a nap this afternoon. Tim's gone to Danforth with some other guys from work to clean up the camp we're going to in July. It's part of the deal. Clean the camp and get 1 week stay free! GOOD DEAL! =)

Oh Happy/Crappy Day

Crappy Morning! As some of you know I tend to get Migraines sometimes and they usually hit in the morning. Well this morning around 2:30 I woke up with a headache and thought I'd take one of my samples (I recently went to the doctor and got some sample migraine medication to find one best for me). I took one and went back to sleep. I woke up this morning for work and still had a headache.. so I got ready for work and then decided to take another pill (the doctor said if after 2 hours the headache is still there then I can take another). So I got to work and started feeling tired, heavy limbs and chest, a little dizzy, tight jaw, and overall like I had a nasty hang over! ALL side effects of that stupid pill I took! So I decide to come home early for lunch at about 10:45 and take a nap.... which ended up making a difference. I get back and re-confirm my new job with my new boss, so I get happy again. Then around 2:00 I get the hiccups - nasty, harsh, painful hiccups! For like 2 hours!!! Crappy again. Then an e-mail goes out announcing my new position! YAY! I get tons of e-mails saying congratulations! I then go downstairs and everyone is congratulating me and I felt like a Merrill Bank celebrity! AND during this time my hiccups go away! So was it a good work day... I don't know? I get home and the hiccups RETURN for like a half hour, but my Avon came in! =o) I guess I'm just happy the day is over.

New Job

First, let me say that with the merger taking place this spring/summer my job is being eliminated. But, supposedly there is going to be loan assistant positions that will open and I am SUPPOSE to slip into one of those. I don't want to! For many reason, but lets just say I'd still have the same boss and that doesn't work well for me. Anyway, the bank has been opening a lot of new positions and they e-mail them out to the employees. I was given a heads up about a position that was opening in the financial department. I interviewed for it today and it's totally mine if I want it, as he said "the balls in your court". I told him I'd like to take a day to think about and see if I have any more questions first. The job will give me a lot more earning potential. I'll get a chance to take the Series 7 (give me a license to sell and talk about annuities, stocks, etc.), I'll be earning a base pay along with incentives. My title would be Sales Assistant so as long as the person I'm working for reaches his goals than I'd be getting a cut of that commission pay he gets. As of lately he's been so busy that's why I'm needed. The better I do my job the more money he can bring it. It's really exciting!!! Needless to say I'll probably be taking the job. I won't start right away. I'll need to help the Mortgage Department get through some of the merger and in the mean time gradually move into the Sales Assistant job. The financial department only consists of this 1 person - so I would be the first step to helping it grow.
At first I felt bad about leaving the Mortgage Department, but I don't anymore. I need to make this career change for me. I have no idea what this new job will bring and maybe I'll find it was a bad choice. The job will be challenging, but I feel prepared for it. The job offers a lot of opportunity for growth in less than a years time....but the choice would be mine about how far I would want to take it. I feel like with this job I would have a lot of control about where I'm headed next (within reason of course, I still work for Merrill Bank). Nate (my future boss) is a go getter, he's a good person who likes to rake in some cash! If i get the hang of all this stuff I could rake in my own set of cash piles - mmm... sounds tasty!!

Picnic

For lunch we packed some food and had a little picnic down by the waterfront. It was definitely windy today and a little cloudy so it felt cooler.

Tim thinking he's cool taking a picture of himself. It actually came out alright - you really can't even tell he was doing it himself.

Okay, so it wasn't just "cooler" down by the water - it was down right COLD! I didn't dress appropriately I guess.

I have to say the scenery isn't the greatest down by the water.

Seagulls chillin' on the railing! I think they were posing for this picture - they're looking right at me!

Beautiful day in the neighborhood

Karen came over for a little while today. We hung out, laughed and did a little Avon shopping then decided to get some ice cream. We headed to DQ for cookie dough blizzards and took them down to the Bangor waterfront. It was wonderful down there! We ate our ice cream, watched the yucky water and the sticks float by. The sun was really warm and the breeze wasn't too bad (I shivered a little, but then again I was eating ice cream!) Karen just left and I don't have much planned for the rest of the evening. I haven't scrapped much lately so I may try and get back into the scrappin' groove. Tim went to Houlton with a bunch of guys from work. They went to see Ron White which Tim was pretty excited about. I have to pick him up at Freightliner probably around 11:00.

I got the Red Sox vs Yankees game on - Red Sox are winning 7 to 4, bottom of the 5th. =o)

I need something to do!

Today is the slowest, most boring day at work I've had in a long time!!! I'm on my lunch break right now and I seriously can not believe I have to go back for another 3 1/2 hours! If anybody needs some Internet research done call me at work 990-4075 haha! I'm tired of keeping files open on my desk just so I "appear" to be busy. Really though, why should I have to fake being busy!? I should just sit there and if someone says something be like "well, give me something then". I've told numerous people that if they need help with anything then please let me know. I'm not the kind of employee that likes to sit at her desk and wait for time to go by. I like to do STUFF! I get tired when I sit there and then I lose motivation and then I start planning an ailment. Hmm... a headache/migraine or explosive diarrhea? Ridiculous! I guess I need to get going back to the fun ship! Yee-freakin'-haa!!

steppin' it up a bit

I've stepped up my game a little and ordered some Avon business cards tonight. Hey, if you're gunna be a business woman you've got to have business cards! ha! =o) They were pretty cheap so I figured it was worth a shot. So, who will I give them to? I don't know that part yet!!! baby steps, baby steps! If you are somebody who knows somebody who wants to know somebody who sells Avon, then holla! I got the hook up! Okay, I think I'm getting tired. Tim's been passed out on the couch for over an hour! It's a job and a half getting him from the couch to the bed.

with the rain came some good news

Well, never thought I'd say this on April 16th, but - at least it isn't SNOWING! Although, I suppose rain could drag you down just as much as snow in the spring time can. I did get a little bit of good news today. I bought a pair of shoes online through Journey's and they turned out to be nothing like the picture!! So I called to find out about returning them. I was told I would need the receipt that was sent to me online (which I deleted) and was also told the packing slip would not be good enough. I took the shoes in to the store today to return them and just said I'd like to return these and BOOM she took them with the packing slip! No questions asked! I was happy about that. Immediately after I had an eye doctor's appointment because my eyes have been bothering me and rather than my eyes getting worse they got better! YEE-HAA!!

3 Day Weekend!!

Thank goodness it's a friggin' 3 day weekend. (Monday is Patriot's Day). It's so nice to get that additional day off! I don't really have any big plans. Monday I have an eye appointment. I think my eyes have got a little worse. I just had the prescription changed about 5 months ago. O well.
Taxes are due on Tuesday! I've been doing my own taxes for 4 years and each year I do at least 1 more persons taxes for them. This year I've done 5 for FREE (not including my own)! I think it's fun and you can learn a lot by doing them. But next year I think I'm going to start charging. =) I have to admit I've got to be fairly good at them. I obviously have to do a lot of reading to be sure I'm doing them right. For instance, I've done 2 this year that were married filing separately (meaning they were either divorced last year or seperated last year) AND there were children under 18 involved!! It can get a little messy, but all you have to do is follow the instruction booklet and you figure it out!!
I'm feeling like I need a nap.

!!!!RECYCLE!!!!

Tonight Tim and I watched a show about a guy who was swimming the entire length of the Hudson River to make a point about how polluted it is. Along the way he did interviews and talked with people from different towns about what they can do to make a difference. It was a very interesting show! A couple of weeks ago I started recycling. I have a couple of boxes for newspapers, aluminium cans, glass jars, plastic bags and my newest addition - cardboard! WAHOO* And I love the fact that Tim is so good about it. He doesn't look at me like I'm crazy or say "I'm not going to friggin' wash out my cans!" haha I love him! And of course we already recycle bottles and cans because you get money when you take them back! =o) How could you NOT want money!

Sooo... if you are interested in making a difference than visit this website: http://reference.aol.com/planet-earth/global-warming/top-tips-stop-global-warming

Giving myself a time out!

Somedays I get this irritable feeling and I just don't know where it comes from. I think it could be a mix of things or maybe a subconscious thing. Today it started AT THE GROCERY STORE. We drove into a parking lot that looked like possibly everyone and their children were there!!! So I said outloud "oh, it's busy... we shouldn't do this right now, but tomorrow the store will be closed and we have NO food so we should just do it. I will stay calm and not let anyone upset me and Tim you will also stay calm and not upset me". haha, okay I added the last little bit for funniness! Anyway, we get in the store and it really turned out to be okay until my Grandmother called and I started the conversation off with "I'm in the grocery store, we just got here". Which means say BYE! Nope, 10 minutes and about 13 f-bombs later (all in my head of course) she finally says bye. (quick re-cap on my Gram, SHE IS A TALKER!) I can't stand to be on the phone in the grocery store because I try to still shop and Tim tries to ask me questions about this or that.
So, we calmly get home and put our food away. We bought some new batteries for our door bell - which I thought was the problem - but it still won't work. I start to get frustrated and decided to set it aside. Then I realize the door isn't shutting well AGAIN! I slam it what felt like a 100 times and then said "Okay Kristie, you need a time out". I went into the bedroom, laid down, shut my eyes and just didn't move for 5 minutes. This was about 2 hours ago and I've been quietly sitting around since. I swear I'm like a child some times and I just need to go to my room to cool off! I think I did a good job! Tim took off to jam with his friends which I think was a good idea for him and it gives me some additional quiet time. Jamming Saturday nights has become a regular thing and he really likes it!
Karen might come over later. I gave her the heads up that I'm feeling irritable and don't know why so just help me keep my Zen vibe going. I told her I'm trying to stay quiet (talk quietly, walk quietly... you'd be surprised how much it helps!)
I'm going to stop now that you all think I need anger management classes! =o)

Snow? Work! Dentist.

I have to say I am very upset about this snow! It's April!!! Although, someone said to me that the past 3 years we've had snow the first week of April... does anyone else remember this? Either I don't pay attention or maybe I don't care.
Work is just so weird. Changes! Everything just keep changing. First I thought the Mortgage Department was disappearing in the fall and now it may start kicking the bucket a little sooner! The new word on the street is; starting May 1st I will no longer be processing mortgages, but doing "miscellaneous" tasks to help with the merger. The department will still be some what there, but what the hell will I do without any files??? I'm getting annoyed and impatient. I just don't know how long I want to sit around and wait for a new job to pop up that I'll like.
I had a dentist appointment today. It went fairly well. She said my teeth are very clean which meant minimal scrapping - YAY! BUT, I have an itty bitty cavity starting BOOOOO... and so I have an appointment in July to have a filling. I don't mind the whole drill, needle/novocain thing, but if I had a choice I'd choose not to have a cavity!
So, tonight I will say a little prayer and ask God to keep the snow, find me a better job, and take this cavity away. Amen.
