Kaelyn is healthy and continuing to hit her milestones - I couldn't ask for anything more! :) 5 months in and she is still breastfed. We decided against starting solids yet. We felt that she was doing fine, sleeping through the night, and didn't show signs of needing to nurse more than normal so we figured we would hold off. The American Academy of Pediatrics says to wait until 6 months so their digestive system is properly developed. Although, the doctor said 4 months is fine which I believe it is but like I said we didn't think Kaelyn needed solids just yet. Once we start it will add a whole new piece to the daily routine so why change it when things are working well? The past
couple of nights she has been waking up around 3:00, but I'm finding she isn't hungry she justwants to play! She starts throwing her legs up and kicking the side of the crib. It rattles a little so she does it again, and again, and again. I finally just shut the baby monitor off and let her go to town while I went back to sleep! :) She must have fallen back to sleep because I heard her a couple of hours later around 5:00 (her normal time to wake up) and she was ready to eat. For those who don't know our house is fairly small so we really don't NEED the monitor, but I keep it on anyway.
She loves to play (grab!) Tim's go-tee. He said that she's starting to pull a little too hard so I don't see him leaning it to let her play with it soon. Still no teeth. I thought for sure they were coming in a couple of weeks ago by the way she was acting, but nothing. The teeth I wont rush - I don't look forward to be bitten if you know what I mean! :)
