I totally set my alarm for 3:00a.m., but I totally forgot to turn it on! hahaha!! Thankfully I woke up at 3:02 and realized I had to pee and then realized I had to get up!! :) I then proceeded to wake Karen who was not having it. I changed and had begun my few morning activities (brush teeth, put contacts in...etc) And went back to Karen around 3:10 who hadn't budged from her bed! She got up and we got ourselves together fairly quickly and Karen says "so far I don't want to do this again next year." So, we head out the door about 3:30, get 1/2 mile down the road and Karen says she forgot her cellphone so we turn around to get it (if we got split up we needed to be able to find each other). As we are heading back to the house I see the trusty glow of my gas light - LOVE IT! We get some gas and then FINALLY we're on the road to BIG Deals and SUPER savings!
First stop was Kohl's - they opened at 4:00. I grabbed the kitchenaid knife set on sale for $29.99 originally priced at $99.99 (or so I thought) re-grouped with Karen in the bedding area, grabbed a few more deals and got in line. If anyone knows what Kohl's looks like than you'll know what I mean when I say I got in line in the back of the store in front of the bedding department! And a solid 2 hours later we were finally checking out!! At checkout my knife set rang up at $99.99 on sale originally priced for $149.99. I told the cashier that wasn't what I thought it was, we found the knife set in the flyer and I guess there were some minor differences so an employee goes and gets the right set (or so we thought). That also scans in at $99.99 on sale. What does the cashier do? He changes the price to $29.99, the manager over rides it and I got a $149.99 knife set for $29.99! WAHOO*!!
Next stop was Lowe's for a gift I can not share because it's for Tim. But I got it for $30, orginally priced at $90! WAHOO AGAIN!!!
We head to DD for a little fuel for the tummy and skip over to Wal-Mart to see what we can find. We ended up with a few decent buys and then decided to head back over to the mall. The mall was stupid and we didn't stay long. We went home after that and got back around 10:00. I'm pleased with the success of the trip and intend on doing it again next year - Karen said maybe.

Obie Update: Getting Closer!
I'm getting closer to owning this dog! The lady selling him is asking $450 but said in her e-mail she is willing to negotiate because a good home is what is most important to her. I e-mailed her back and asked if she would be willing to go as low as $250. She responded by saying she would think about it. Right now she is in Colorado and when she returns (Monday) we're going to set up a day to meet and I'll get a
chance to meet Obie also. She e-mailed me these couple of pictures from when Obie was a puppy. He really isn't much bigger than this now. Although, he looks much larger in these pics because of his fur. She'll e-mail me more pics when she returns. Honestly, I am getting a little bit nervous about having a dog around - now that it seems like I could ACTUALLY have one around. I just don't want the dog to tear things up and pee all over my stuff. Ultimately I want a dog very badly and am looking forward to this being MY doggie!!!Thursday, November 20, 2008
My belly hurts...
I stayed home from work today. The past couple of days my stomach has been bothering me. I was going to go in to work a couple of hours late, but after my shower I decided to stay home instead. O well, it's not like I've been all that busy at work anyway - that's another thing all together. It'll probably take me an hour to get caught up from the stuff I missed today - woohoo*
I found him... his name is Obie (I'm thinking he's named after Obi-Wan Kenobi from Star Wars haha, LOVE IT), he's a Poochon (a poodle!) haha! Never would I have said I wanted a poodle!!!!! But he's super way cute and Tim even likes him. I found him in the Uncle Henrys, he's 1.5 years old, sort of grayish in color, and he looks like he has a permanent smile on his face!!! Unfortunatly I wish I had saved the picture from the Uncle Henrys ad but I didn't and now I can't find it anymore. Down Side - yes, there is a down side...the current owner paid $1,650 for him from a breeder in Iowa (or so they say) and although they didn't mention how much they are charging for him I can imagine it's going to be pretty darn close to their purchase price. But I'm not going to totally give up yet - maybe, just maybe these people have a really kind heart and would be willing to give him up for the reasonable cost of $250! hahahahha!! What do you guys think? Do I have a chance? Ya, I know... not very likely. But I really really love him and I at least want to say I tried to get him. I e-mailed the lady back last night and gave my reasons for wanting Obie along with asking how much she is charging. He's in Freeport, ME so it wouldn't be too bad of a drive to get him. Hopefully I'll hear back from her tonight.

AHHH!!!! I don't WANT a dog... I NEEEEED a DOG!!!!
I search and I search every day the same thing. No dogs seem to jump out at me and say "hey, I'll be your new doggy". I've inquired on a couple of dogs, but it never seems to work out.
I went to the Town of Frankfort Office today to pick up a deposit for the bank and when I opened the door the sweetest cocker spaniel greeted me. (For those who do not know, I grew up with a cocker spaniel and he was my all time favorite dog!) This little spaniel came right up to me wagging his tail with a little empty sandwich bag in his mouth. He was so proud of that sandwich bag. I bent down to say hello and he continued to wag his tail and jump on me. When I was about to tuck him in my jacket and run out the door another one comes around the corner! This one was a little more timid (possibly female), but still very sweet! At this point I realized I was there for a reason (to pick up the deposit) haha - so I tended to my business and quietly said goodbye to my new found friends. It was one of those moments that if the owner said "Want one" I would of said "hell yes"!!! Despite Tim saying he doesn't want a cocker spaniel. sigh*
The entire ride back to the bank my heart was breaking because I knew I would later be going home to a doggy-less house. :( I recently finished my desperate search for the right dog, but again no luck.

Election Day 2008
As I get older I'm beginning to gain more of an interest in politics. This is the first year I spent time watching some of the debates and it was also the first time I ever voted (A registered Democrat thank you very much)!! I'm guessing part of that has to do with this year being such an important election year. I'm even watching the News as they follow the Polls. Tim would rather put in a movie, but I'm kind of interested in watching the hype! Yes, I did vote for Obama (in case you couldn't figure that out by the Obama sign). I find it interesting how people look at me when I say "I voted for Obama" some appear to be unmoved while others act as though I just told them I have small pox. I also find it interesting that some people don't want to share who they voted for. Why? Is it suppose to be a secret? Do you think people are going to judge you or dislike you? IF they do than good because you probably don't want them talking to you anyway! By no means do I walk around asking people who they voted for because I'm sensitive to peoples right to privacy. But you know what I'm saying, right? *If you voted for McCain don't dare post a comment I swear I will reek havoc all over your blog! HAHA! JOKE*
