On the verge of a breakdown

I'm not kidding. If Saturday does not hurry up and get here and then hurry up and leave I'm going to have a serious mental breakdown. I'm worried because the house just isn't "done" to my liking. I need to decorate more, I want to touch a few more things up with paint, and I can't find a damn home for my stupid Avon stuff so it is sitting in a box beside my bed. On top of it all Tim isn't even a quarter as stressed as me which actually makes me more stressed out - I need him to be stressed with me!! I feel like every time I get one step ahead 3 more things jump out at me. I've had a headache for 2 days now. Last night I took a "nap" at 7:30-8:15 and then went back to bed at like 8:45 and slept through the entire night. Even the fact that Tim's nightstand is completely bare is driving me crazy! You wanted a friggin night stand and now it just sits there on the side of the bed! AHH! Now really Kristie, is your family and your future in laws really going to care that the house isn't "done" to your standards? NO! Absolutely NO! Then what's my freakin' problem? Someone please tell me I'm insanely overreacting.

Does it ever end?

I know what you're all thinking. "No, it doesn't end... there is always a project" blah blah blah! But we are still trying to get stuff together so we can be settled. There are still some small things that need to be replaced, like the sprayer for the sink. We still don't have a friggin kitchen table!! Anyway, other than what STILL needs to be done we are coming along very nicely. Today we raked the front lawn which was a little tiring... okay a lot tiring! It looks much better though! The back yard is a little messy with a nice big burn pile.... maybe we can get a permit in the next couple of weeks. We have green grass starting to grow and we have no lawn mower yet! We have one picked out, so we'll probably get that in a couple of weeks.

We priced out some flooring for Tim's room in the basement. There is a subflooring that we need to put down before we lay the carpet or whatever we decide to put down. It'll help with moisture and stuff. I'm excited to get his room done. He'll probably disappear for days at a time down there. =o) ha*

We have started to slow down a little with the house repairs and stuff. It's nice to be able to watch tv at night and go to bed a reasonable hour. This morning was probably the first morning in a month that I slept in and took my time getting ready. It'll all come together and then the spring/summer weekend projects wont seem so bad.

We got a mailbox ... we got a mailbox!

Yes, I find it a big deal we got a mailbox!! Tim did a great job putting it all together. Not that it was really very difficult, but we're still very new to the do-it-yourself-house-thing-stuff. The ground is pretty soft on the side of the road here so hopefully it'll stay standing. We did put a bunch of cement in and I think that should do the trick. I was talking to Tim on the phone this morning while he was at work and he asked me if the mailbox was still standing. Haha! Can't say it was one of the first things on my mind when I woke up. "I should go check on our mailbox." He did say it was standing when he left so I figured we were safe. And yes, it is still standing now at 4:30. I feel like I've been crazy busy today getting things put away in the house, but when I look around it doesn't look like I did much. I'm still struggling with where to put a couple of things. Most of you know I collect fairies, but I think I'm starting to move past the fairy phase. I definitly still put some up, but I think I'm going to pack some of them away for a little while.

Tonight Tim and I are going to head over to the apartment and clean it up some. We are having the rugs cleaned on Monday and as of Tuesday the apartment is no longer ours! YAY!! I'm very happy to be out of there.

The house is still a little bit disorganized, but we should finish most things up this weekend. I hope!!!

And we're in

We moved in to the house on Saturday. We are still unpacking and finding a home for everything. It's been insanely stressful!!! I'm getting to the point where I just start throwing things here and there. The table we got is damaged so we have to take it back and wait for another to come. I'm having the worst luck finding curtains I like for our living room. I'm going to check out the Curtain Shop tomorrow on my lunch break. I heard they are expensive, but they have lots to choose from. I'm happy with how the house has turned out. The living room has posed quite the challenge. Between the picture window, the baseboards, the window between the kitchen and living room AND the basement door it's pretty difficult to find a spot for the basic stuff like couch and entertainment center. Our entertainment center is rather large so it makes it harder to place it so it doesn't look awkward. I'm sure sometime down the road we will replace it with a small one, otherwise we'll never change the living room around - How Boring! Okay, I should get back to organizing something. I'll try and post some new pics soon.

A busy week

We have continued to go out to the house every night to work on this or that. Last night I went out for little over an hour. Around 7:30 I went to a ladies house to help dip strawberries in chocolate for tonight's Bangor Garden Show Preview Night. I was there until 10:30 dipping those damn strawberries. There were HUNDREDS of them and 5 of us. Tonight I'm leaving work a few minutes early to head to the auditorium to begin the preview night extravaganza. Doors open at 6:00 and close at 9:00. I'm hoping I can get out of there shortly after 9:00!! We still have a lot of packing to do and we're planning on moving Saturday. We've loaded up the car the past few nights, but you would barely know that when you look around the apartment. And of course I agreed to babysit Saturday night from 5-10 so we'll probably get it all moved, but forget unpacking any of it that night! Tim works Sunday so I guess that will give me the entire day to unpack and start finding new homes for our stuff.
